Ultrafiltration

ULTRAFILTRATION

Ultrafiltration (UF) is a variant of membrane-based technology. First of all, Ultrafiltration systems remove a high percentage of microbes from the feed water. Secondly, the treatment process has modest energy requirements. It therefore offers a simple, chemical free and user-friendly method of treating water.

Ultrafiltration: Advanced pre-treatment

Ultrafiltration is an advanced pre-treatment method. First of all, Ultrafiltration works excellent in cases of open intake for seawater reverse osmosis plants, as conventional sand filtration proves less effective here. Ultrafiltration modules are also often used to treat river water, due to feed water prone to fluctuation in turbidity over seasons.
We use this technology successfully in our projects. Most noteworthy, we have produced drinking water from river water and other surface water bodies. Here the main challenge is impurities that lead to microbial formation

Containerized Units

Several containerized CBIPL Ultrafiltration units operate in remote villages in Africa. The units provide safe and reliable source of fresh water for entire communities.
